The New Wet n Wild Centerstage Eyeshadow Pallets

Wet n Wild has to be one of my favorite brands of makeup. The price is nice, the quality is great and can be found almost anywhere here in the United States and Canada if I am not mistaken. The wonderful people there has teamed up with Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas and have released a new line in the Wet n Wild family of products. Included in the line are eyeshadows, eyeshadow primer, nail polish, lipstick, lipgloss, foundation and powder. I picked up quite a few things from the new line and I intend on getting more. I have seen these available first hand at Walgreens, CVS, Rite-Aid, Walmart and Kmart. They may be available at many other places as well but these are just the places I have seen them.

This post will be about the eyeshadows. The Centerstage Collection has four eyeshadow pallets.

Each pallet consists of five colors, the center color matte while the colors surrounding have a range of textures. Some are translucent highlighting shades while some are matte and others are shimmery and glittery.
They contain net weight of 0.19 oz or 5.5 g of product. They are a good size in my opinion. I purchased mine from Walgreens and paid $4.99 USD for them which is a good price, especially for 5 eyeshadows. The    single shadows from Wet n Wild are often priced at $1.99.

Here are the colors:
 A031 Metropolitan Nights
 A030 Dutchess Lounge
A032 Maldives Sky
A029 Desert Festival

Overall I think these are really good eyeshadows with good pigmentation. When applied with a primer and a base the colors are very vivid and beautiful. I love them over a white base. I think they are good for most if not all skin tones. The shadows are definately worth trying and having in your collection. You can use a whole pallet by itself to create a look. You may have to use a flesh toned color as a transitional color if thats what you like to do but its not necessary if its not something you always do. One thing you will have to be careful of is the fall out with the extra shimmery and glittery shades. I suggest tapping the excess off the brush before applying and slowly building the color up. The gold color I used in this look definitely had fallout. I also suggest putting on foundation and other face makeup after applying so you can get all the fallout off without disturbing your other makeup. Here is a look I did using the Metropolitan Nights Pallet. Sorry its a little blurry I had to zoom in so you could see the colors.

Here is the full look I created using the Metropolitan Nights Pallet. I hope you found this helpful and I really think these pallets are worth it to pick up and try out. Let me know what you think if you have tried them! :)

Amazon Experience and FASH Cosmetics

So I love a good deal just like the next person, especially when it comes to makeup. As a result I find myself shopping around a lot because I am on a serious budget. Like for real for real. Taking care of three kids, working two job, taking classes, trying to maintain a relationship and looking fabulous can be expensive, time consuming and overwhelming. I don't have much to splurge on cosmetics (like I want to lol) especially these big name brands like MAC for example. One day soon I will have that luxery but as of right now, that isn't an option.

So anyway, like I was saying, I shop around quite a bit, especially online for my cosmetics. I recently discovered that Amazon carries makeup and beauty products! It may not have been a big surprise to anyone else but it shocked me. I always thought of Amazon as a place to find music and electronics and books. I only used it before to find cheap accessories for my Samsung Galaxy phone for really cheap and to download my Glee soundtracks. Then I was going through the different lists that they have on the website and I did a search for eyeshadow. I was amazed and the variety and prices on the beauty products! I couldn't believe it, so I narrowed the search to 120 pallets. I figured that since it was Amazon.com I could find a BH Cosmetics 120 pallet for really cheap. Well they had them but the cost was about the same as the website and I wanted something a little cheaper. I am not knocking their price or anything at all because its still a good deal but I just wanted something to be dirt cheap lol. So I came across a company called FASH. They had makeup brushes and eyeshadows and some other stuff. I was more interested in the brushes and their version of a 120 pallet. So I ordered a 34 piece makeup brush set along with the eyeshadow pallet.

First  lets start with the prices. The eyeshadow pallet when I purchased it (which was the first week of September 2011) was $13.99 and the brush set was $14.99. You can't beat those prices with a stick!! Now as of right now the price of the brush set has gone up to $16.99 but thats still not bad for 34 brushes but more on the price change in just a minute. I also ordered some stuff for my phone so for whatever reason my order was qualified for free shipping. You would have to check that out for yourself but it came to my house in like 7 days but that may vary for other people. Now you do have the option of paying shipping so it gets to you faster. They have a one day thing and they have one thats like 2-5 days or something. But I personally HATE paying shipping so I just wait patiently for free lol.

Now lets get into my experience with purchasing from FASH through Amazon. As I said before I got my package in like 7 days. Everything was bubble wrapped and packaged in small black boxes that had a small rectangular sticker on the corner that stated what was suppose to be in the box. Then those boxes we in another box along with the stuff for my phone.

So when I opened the box for my eyeshadow I was happy to see that none of the shadows were broken except one which was the matte black but there were two in the set and it wasn't really broken per say, more like chipped a little. But when I opened up the box of makeup brushes I found another 120 pallet! I was kinda mad because I was looking forward to the brushes. And when I called Amazon they said all they could do was send my money back but they told me that I could reorder the brushes if I wanted to. I went back to the site and that was when I found out the price went up. I haven't reordered them yet but I will soon and I will make a post about them after I use them for a while and wash them a few times. So sadly I won't be able to give a review on these right now :-(

Now for the review:

Most of these eyeshadows are very pigmented. There is a nice mix of shimmers, satins and matte colors. There are two matte blacks as I said before so thats pretty cool if you use black alot. One great thing about this particular pallet is that there is a true red in it. There is a shimmer, satin and matte red and it is very red! It shows up very well on my skin so that is a plus for me. Red usually looks burgundy on me for some reason. Most of the colors are not chalky but one of the lighter pinks seems to be very chalky so I don't really use it. But all in all I am very pleased with this pallet. I use it everyday just about. I am gonna create something cool for Halloween as soon as I figure out what I want to be lol. I haven't had a problem with it creasing and when I use primer and a base the color doesn't fade over the course of the day. Now if I just use primer and no base or nothing at all it fades a bit but not too bad. I work in a resturaunt and I don't really look in the mirror throughout my shift so I never know what it looks like until I get home. A shift for me is between 4 and 9 hours so I think it lasts pretty good, especially for the price. I totally recommend it for anyone but I would advise you to use a good primer and base.

Be advised that Amazon's cosmetics are constantly changing and the availability of some items may be different at different times. There may be a chance that this product may not be available but I do believe that there should be something similar available at all times. I plan on reviewing more not so commonly used brands of cosmetics so keep a look out for those. I like a deal and if I find one I like to spread the word! lol.
